McEs, A Hacker Life
And Life Goes On
About two weeks in Iran now. Enjoying vacation, with old and new friends. Past two days it has been raining in Tehran like crazy. As a result all the hazardous air pollution is gone temporarily.
The Lovely Mazandaran, set of photos from Mazandaran, the province in Iran that I am from. Thanks
Mani.
It's really hard to find enough time to chew email and do productive work too. Found just enough time to fix a bug in Pango. Lets hope I don't miss the tarballs-due again.
Finally, the new
GNOME Bugzilla KICKS BAD ARSE. It's got all my wished features and a lot more. Love the point system, and auto CC, the ubercool My Bugs page, and a lot more. Thanks Olav, owe you a pitcher.
Amsterdam
After eight hours in the Amsterdam airport, leaving for Tehran in a few minutes finally.
Yesterday, I accepted the job offer to work for Motorola Canada, as soon as I return from Iran. Yay!
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
Lennon/McCartney
Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.
Cellophane flowers of yellow and green,
Towering over your head.
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes,
And she's gone.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds.
Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain
Where rocking horse people eat marshmellow pies,
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers,
That grow so incredibly high.
Newspaper taxis appear on the shore,
Waiting to take you away.
Climb in the back with your head in the clouds,
And you're gone.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
Picture yourself on a train in a station,
With plasticine porters with looking glass ties,
Suddenly someone is there at the turnstyle,
The girl with the kaleidoscope eyes.
Apple madness
Apparently you cannot send a gift from Canada to the US. Apple.com doesn't accept Canada billing address and Apple.ca doesn't accept US shipping address. Thanx.
Quick Post
Just a quick post that Behnam, my brother, has been hacking on gucharmap, fixing a lot of bugs. I probably should ask for a CVS account for him pretty soon. He has also put
a little portal to his and my homepages, blogs, and flickr accounts.
Pango 1.10.2 stable released, but didn't hit the GNOME 2.12.2 release, since I only uploaded it to ftp.gtk.org, not GNOME's. Just got ssh access to gnome.org, so that shouldn't happen anymore.
More progress with Pango HEAD every other day. With the nice
g_slice work that landed into glib, we will be converting a lot of g_new0?(.*, 1)'s to g_slice_new().
Had a lot of bad experience with customer services recently. Need some time to blog about them.
