 Fedora Core 3

I'm sitting here, frustrated of the heavy load of the past few weeks, waiting for the FC3 announcement to arrive... I'm planning an installation party for next Saturday, but guess it means I've got to install myself after everybody else. I'm afraid the Mozilla with Pango backend is too buggy to render Persian right now.

Yesterday, we attended a day-long puzzle event called Puzzle Royale. It was among three schools, U of Toronto, U of Michigan, and CMU, sponsored by, ehem, Microsoft. It was a fun day. Competition was noon to midnight. But still reminded me of the very first ACM contest I attended. I made lots of mistakes. Well, the team was Ehsan, Hamed, Hojjat, and me. We didn't plan in advance at all, Hamed left us in the middle, the rest of us took two hours out in the afternoon. It was onlu after the event was finished that we realised we could have done better...

Past weeks I've been totally busy, making FarsiTeX work.

Ah, I rediscovered experts-exchange.com. You can find me there when I'm bored or tired or day work. I hang around Python and C, code for people just for fun. Guess I don't need to tell again, I'm doing almost all my programming in Python these days. Got something for the language. I wrote a Polynomial class in Python, with all operators overloaded and stuff... again, just for fun.

Well, that's how I spend my days these days. I go to another campus of UofT to teach two tutorials and have an office hour on Wednesdays, which takes the whole day practically. I mark assignments for another course. Got a Machine Learning course which is good. There's a Scientific Writing non-credit course I'm attending. That one has screwed me up; well, to be exact, the instructor has done that.

There's been a bit or getting away from computers in this past month. I read a couple of wonderful books. Ordered new books by Dylan (Chronology: Volume 1, and Lyrics); got to read them. Ordered latest Chicago Manual of Style, got to read it. I wrote for Ghasedak again.

All in all, it's all busy days, I answer email really late, I don't know where I'm going at all...
